Longest Bartending Shift??? CaptureMAX is there to broadcast a world record!
AUG 19,2002 - EUGENE, OR -- TNL Total Solutions' popular CaptureMAX software is showing the world a new world record! Watch Leon Smith, as he attempts to break the current World Record for the most consecutive days behind a bar! The current record is 14 days straight bartending! Leon Smith started his bartending shift at Bargos Grill & Tap on August 19, to end his shift sometime after he breaks the current world record. Funds raised will benefit the Abilities First Foundation.
Bartending marathons for charity began in the late 1980s when bartender Billy Reilly bartended in Washington, DC for 7 days. He later beat his own record by going for 10 days, followed up by Jimmy Cirrito of Herndon, VA taking the record by going for 12 days. The current record of 14 days was set by Justin Fedorchak and Jesse Maas at Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern in Herndon, VA. Thousands of dollars have been raised for various charities by these bartenders, and BARGOS & Leon are excited about raising money for the Abilities First Foundation. Leon will start his marathon on Monday, August 19th… how long can he last?
The webcam itself is running autonomously on Windows 2000, administered remotely. There is no monitor, keyboard or mouse connected to the machine, and CaptureMAX is connecting to the internet through a normal dial-up connection. The machine is running the BETA version of CaptureMAX 2.00.
